Global alliance for the adoption of AI worldwide

The World Economic Forum “Davos” announced the launch of the Global AI Action Alliance (GAIA), to regulate and accelerate the adoption of inclusive, trusted, and transparent AI.

Artificial intelligence holds the promise of making organizations 40% more efficient and contributing more than $14 trillion to the global economy by 2035, but it will only achieve this if it is used responsibly.

The Global AI Alliance brings together more than 100 companies, governments, civil society organizations, and academic institutions to accelerate the adoption of AI in the global public interest.

Alliance members will work together to identify and implement the best tools and practices available to use AI ethically and maximize its benefits in society.

Recent disagreements over facial recognition, automated decision-making, and COVID-19 tracking have shown that realizing the potential of AI requires strong participation from citizens and governments, based on their trust that AI is being built and used ethically.

In recognition of the above, more than 175 global organizations have proposed ethical principles for artificial intelligence, intending to regulate the behavior of community members and institutions regarding AI applications.
