The President of China National Nuclear Corporation （CNNC, Mr. Sun Qin, recently met in Teheran Mr. Ali Akbar Salehi, Vice-President of Iran and Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to discuss the renovation of Arak heavy water reactors (HWR).
Mr. Sun Qin indicated that China use all the expertise transferred for Qinshan III and provide any necessary support to Arak HWR project. The Chinese side expressed clearly its intent to open any opportunity with Iran in that field.
Mr. Salehi added that Iran close a deal with CNNC for Arak project and extend its cooperation in the field of small reactor.
During the visit, Mr. Sun Qin met also the General Manager of the Nuclear Energy Production and Development Company.
