On January 8, Qian Zhimin, President of State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), and his party visited Liu Hua, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and Director of the National Nuclear Safety Administration. They talked about their main vision for 2020.
Liu Hua reaffirmed that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (and NNSA) will continue to actively support the development of new nuclear power plant sites and small reactor heating demonstration projects in 2020.
Liu Xiangmin, deputy general manager of SPIC, indicated that the two sides had agreed to set up the Shanghai Nuclear Safety Review Center as a technical support agency of the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) to provide technical support for the national nuclear and radiation safety supervision.
