Iran to import 900 tons of yellow cake

The chairman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) – Ali Akbar Salehi revealed last Friday the intention of his country to import 900 tons of yellow cake. “During the embargo, we were not able to import one single gram of yellow cake but we planned to import a first batch of 600 tons”.

Mr. Salehi added that it’s a source of pride that all the staff in Bushehr nuclear power plan are Iranian: “No other country has achieved such accomplishments with so many obstacles” (…) “our economy is resistant even if we face lots of issues, we have great hope in this project”.

Iran produce officially the centrifuges for nuclear medicine and non-military purposes and received the first shipment of uranium ore concentrate “Yellow cake) by the end of February from Russia, and the second shipment will arrive in the current weeks.
