埃及电力和可再生能源部长Mohammed Shaker博士宣布，该部已与阿联酋的一家公司签约，以提高发电站的效率。
Shaker在3月4日“埃及建筑商”会议讲话中表示，升级电站可以节省埃及在发电过程中消耗的大量燃料。他指出，65％的发电成本用于购买“发电”所需的天然气和燃料。
Shaker指出，该部目前正计划在6月份签署利用苏伊士抽水蓄能技术建造电站的合同。
