From November 12th to 15th, Wang Jimin and Jin Yongli, researchers from key laboratories of nuclear data of China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), were invited to participate in the 9th Seminar on Asian Nuclear Reactor Database Progress held in Gyeongju, South Korea. The theme is on the development of nuclear data centers in Asian countries, the progress of the Nuclear Reaction Experimental Database (EXFOR), the latest developments of the Asian Nuclear Reaction Data Collaboration (NRDCAsia), nuclear data measurement and experimental devices and nuclear data evaluation and applications.
Dr. Otsuka Naohiko, Director of the Nuclear Data Section of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA/NDS), who manages the EXFOR database, Li Yongxu, director of the Nuclear Data Center of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, and Professor M. Aikawa of Hokkaido University, Japan, and other 20 representatives in nuclear data research field from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Vietnam attended the meeting.
The Seminar was jointly launched by China, Japan, South Korea and India in 2010, in order to promote the filing of Asian nuclear reaction experimental data, and to strengthen the exchange of nuclear data measurement and evaluation in Asian countries, as well as to enhance cooperation and exchanges of Asian nuclear data research activities. China has successfully held the 2nd and 7th seminars in Beijing.
It has decided that the next 10th Asian Nuclear Reaction Database Progress Seminar will be held in Kazakhstan in June 2019.
NβN Pro tip: Understanding the international advanced technologies of nuclear data measurement, evaluation and database construction, as well as the development of international nuclear data, is of great benefit to improving the development direction of nuclear industry in each country and improving the research level of nuclear data.
