UAE project in Barakah

Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) announces that 68% of the construction work at the nuclear power plant, which are located at Barakah in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi has been completed.

Mohamed Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, said that the UAE showed the highest levels of commitment to the best international standards and practices since the beginning of the UAE’s peaceful nuclear program.

These stations will provide nearly a quarter of the needs of the UAE of electricity, as well as it will reduce carbon emissions in the state by 12 million tons annually.

Upon the completion of the project and its launch, the four units will transfer its nuclear energy directly to the electricity network in the country.
