Bahrain gets closer to Russia

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa paid an official visit to Moscow on September 5 to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the strong bilateral relations binding both countries.

Both leaders discussed first key issues of Russian-Bahraini security cooperation, current developments in the Middle East and North Africa, primarily in the context of fighting international terrorism.

Then Russia and Barhain focused on the implementation of the agreements that were signed in Sochi last February, and the key priority on their agenda: bilateral trade and economic cooperation, such as projects in the fuel and energy sector, aluminum industry, civil nuclear energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, and cooperation between their leading banks.

A number of bilateral documents will be signed following the meeting.
