Rolls Royce involvement in the Turkish nuclear cluster

İTÜNOVA Technology Transfer Office (TTO), a technological and innovative support of İstanbul Technical University to Turkish industry since 2013 established a consortium within the scope of Turkey’s “nuclear industry capability development project”. The project is financed by the Ministry of Economy and executed by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO).
The consortium composed of İTUOVA TTO, Rolls-Royce and Defense Technology Engineering (STM) will assess the Istanbul Nuclear Cluster and identify the gap analysis between domestic and foreign competition. The report and its proposal will be submitted within six months.
Rolls Royce will have the opportunity to share its forty years of design and manufacturing in the  nuclear with the industrial organization in Istanbul.
Dr. Ercan Çitil, the General Manager of İTÜNOVA expressed his gratitude to ISO, to benefit from Rolls-Royce expertise :”Rolls-Royce’s world-class reputation and expertise will add significant value to the goals of the project.”
Patrick Regis, Turkey and Central Asia CEO of Rolls-Royce confirmed the commitment of the company to support Turkey’s achievement of its economic goals.  He added that Turkey’s Advanced Production and Technology Center (AMTC) is the ideal support platform to achieve such project.
Note: Turkey’s Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center (AMTC), which was designed under the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology to develop national industrial skills and capabilities was established in 2015. It was decided to prioritize the development of aerospace, aviation and nuclear industry capabilities. Rolls-Royce became the founding industrial partner of the center.
