Chinese companies try to survive in the nuclear market

Mr. Li Wenjiang, the General Manager of the Industry & Facility Services of the Bureau Veritas, stated in the nuclear exhibition this April in Beijing “The Chinese nuclear market is very pessimistic. Many orders are pushed to the sidelines. Therefore, Chinese corporates have no other choice than to export their products and services. This is the only way for them to survive in their domestic market”.

Except for the technical and commercial limitations, Chinese companies shall also evaluate and investigate the market from the following points when considering going out:

Firstly, political factors—The company shall check if the two countries have listed the nuclear development as the key field in the future bilateral trade.

Secondly, nuclear technology consideration—The company shall investigate how much the target overseas country has accepted China’s independent nuclear technology.

Thirdly, economic efficiency— for example, China meets some challenges in the Argentina projects because it neglects the economic efficiency in that country.
