CNNC and TVEL partnership

CNNC subsidiaries-JiangSu Nuclear Power Company(JNPC), China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC), and Fuel Company of the Russian Atomic Corporation ROSATOM (TVEL) signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing.

According to the deal, TVEL will provide a 10-year fuel supply and relevant technical support for Tianwan nuclear power plant, including the fuel assembly supply, supply of zirconium used for the assembly processing, reactor core management and service etc.

 

Since from 1997 when both sides signed the first nuclear fuel supply contract, TVEL provided a series of nuclear fuel service to Tianwan project. The cooperation helped Tianwan to achieve targets of technical innovation, such as the demonstration of the long-term fuel cycle, introduction of the new type fuel assembly, and the recycled uranium fuel assembly application etc.
