The first agreement regarding the Mersin Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Project, which will be composed of 4 reactors with an installed power of 4,800 MW envisaged to be commissioned in 2023, was signed with Russia in 2010.
Yuriy Galanchuk, the new General Manager of Akkuyu Nuclear Joint Stock Company, will build Turkey’s first nuclear power plant.
Mr. Galanchuk, who started to serve as President of the Russian Nuclear Power Plant (NGS) in 2007, was appointed as the Construction Director of Leningrad NGS-2 in Concern Rosenergoatom AŞ in 2012.
Mr. Galanchuk, General Manager of Akkuyu Nuclear Inc., has been managing the processes of obtaining nuclear power plants in Iran and Russia, especially with 30 years of experience in the sector.
