On June 23, Mr. Gu Guoxing, the vice president of Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute (“SNERDI”) led a delegation to Islamabad. On behalf of SNERDI, he signed a technical service contract–the “Startup Physics Test Optimization Item” with Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (“PAEC”). SNERDI’s self-designed reactivity measurement system-SMART realizes its first overseas export.
Early in May, SNERDI succeeded to perform the verification test on the commercial reactors in Unit 1 of Chashma NPP.
Based on this technical contract, SNERDI will use the SMART system specially designed for CAP1400 to support the promotion of the advanced dynamic rod value measurement technique in the nuclear power plants, further reducing the time loss of the startup physics test and improving the economic efficiency of the plant operation.
Mr. Gu concluded: “The landing of the Startup Physics Test Item in Chashma NPP will further expands SNERDI’s involvement in the nuclear technical service market in Pakistan”.
