Nuclear influence on Iran-Turkey relations

The 13-year-old nuclear dispute between Iran and the Western countries  was softened by the agreement between the US and Iran in 2015.

Iran and Turkey as two important forces of Middle East are trying to strengthen their relations in the fields of transport, trade, tourism and banking. The rail agreement and the visit of the Turkish Minister of Tourism to Iran illustrate the growing exchanges between both countries.

Iran is an emerging market, which offers a lot of potential for a  young population.
In 2016, trade volume between Iran and Turkey amounted 9.6 billion USD. Turkey exported about 4.9 billion USD to Iran which is its 9th most important market.

Nihat Zeybekci, the Turkish Minister of Economy stated that the mutual trade with Iran has increased by 40 percent in the last period compared to 2016.
His Iranian counterpart, Mr. Huseyin Nakavi declared that Iran government aims to increase its trade volume with Turkey to 30 billion USD.
