Nuclear market offers 10 billion USD opportunity to Turkish companies

Head of Nuclear Power Plants Summit Dr. Şule Ergün pointed out that the Nuclear Power Plant market in Turkey has a great potential for Turkish firms and that 42 billion dollars of nuclear power plant investments represent an opportunity of 10 billion dollars for Turkish companies. She said: ” Turkish companies will find the opportunity to do business in many areas of the nuclear power plant projects. ” Ergün emphasized that the nuclear power plant market in Turkey will have an effect that will increase the business volume for companies operating in fields such as construction, electricity-electronics, machine industry and manufacturing and added: “Thus, new employment areas will be formed and nuclear energy investments will create a new economic potential for Turkish companies. ”

The urgent agenda of Turkey’s Nuclear Power Plant market is to indigenise Sinop and Akkuyu nuclear projects and  to employ Turkish companies. Ergün specified that the new generation plant will require about 3,000 valves, 250 pumps, 70 kilometers of piping, 483 kilometers of electrical wire and 90 electrical equipment.
