August 22, Mr. Liu Hua, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and director of National Nuclear Safety Administration(NNSA), and Mr. Yang Hongbo, vice Governor of Sichuan province, went to the Factory “821” for Inspection on Environmental protection works.
Liu Hua remarked that Plant “821” will further promote the nuclear decommissioning and waste management. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the NNSA will provide a full range of support and services, to impulse “821” to become the national team of the nuclear environmental protection industry. CNNC party members, the deputy general manager Mr. Yang Changli, the Sichuan Provincial government and the provincial environmental protection Department were present in the inspection.
Mr. Liu Hua and Mr. Yang Hongbo inspected the nuclear facilities, had a briefing on the decommissioning management technology and capacity building situation, listened to the recent work situation report on nuclear safety control, the medium and long term Retirement management plan and the enterprise culture construction.
Yang Hongbo pointed out that the nuclear environmental protection industry in 821 Factory is an important part of Sichuan province as a national nuclear industrial base, and is an important channel to solve the problem of regional core security and environmental protection, and Sichuan province will assist enterprises to accelerate the progress of decommissioning and provide full support and help for the transformation and development of enterprises.
