Shen Danyang, Ministry of Commerce answered to the press during a regular press conference led by China Guangdong Nuclear Power (CGN). The main subject was the recent move of CGN in Kenya.
China Guangdong Nuclear Power Agency nuclear and Kenya signed the “China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd. and Kenya on the Kenya Bureau of nuclear power Nuclear Development Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding”, both parties will be based on the 1st Hualong (HPR1000) technology and improvements in technology, to carry out comprehensive cooperation in Kenya nuclear power development and capacity-building, including research and development, construction, operation, fuel supply, nuclear safety, nuclear security, nuclear waste management and decommissioning, and other fields.
Shen Danyang, declared the nuclear power industry technology illustrated the high added value economy, with independent intellectual property rights, and was an important component of high-end equipment manufacturing sector. Nuclear power and other high-end equipment are inevitable trends of China’s industrial development in the “going out” strategy.
Early in 2005, Chashma nuclear power plant project in Pakistan, China National Nuclear Corporation signed a contract which has been completed and runs smoothly. In 2014, CNNC and Pakistan signed the Karachi nuclear power plant project. This year, China and the United Kingdom, France, Argentina, South Africa and other countries signed several cooperation agreements in the field of nuclear energy, to promote related businesses of large nuclear power plant project.
