Indonesia will cut its energy bill

Mr. Djarot Wisnusubroto , head of the National Nuclear Energy Agency (Batan) during his visit on October 12, at Faculty of Engineering, University of Hasanuddin, Unhas, Gowa, South Sulawesi, declared that Indonesia will cut its energy bill by 50% with the use of nuclear power.

He explained that nuclear is considered as Renewable Energy and can be used to produce 5 Gigawatts of electricity in 2025.

 

“We will continue to encourage the government and the people to use nuclear energy. It is a great prospective for energy production and independence. Nuclear will cut the energy bill for the consumer and our industry. If thermal power costs 12 cents per Kwh, nuclear can be 6 to 8 cents per Kwh”.

 

Djarot said that Nuclear is safe to use in Indonesia. “Therefore, Batan intensively communicate to the public, especially academics and students about the utilization of nuclear technology.
