Research on the application of AI in nuclear power industry

In July 2017, the State Council issued the “New generation of artificial Intelligence development planning” (Guo (2017)35), which proposed that by 2020, the overall technology and application of artificial intelligence will be greatly improved, and artificial intelligence industry has become an important economic growth point; by 2025, the basic theory of artificial intelligence to achieve a major breakthrough and widely be applied in the intelligent manufacturing, smart Medicine, Smart city, intelligent Agriculture, national defense construction and other fields; by 2030 Artificial intelligence’s theory, technology and applications to reach the world’s leading level and greatly expand in production and life, social governance as well as national defense.

 

Nuclear industry is a high-tech strategic industry. To put into practice of the new generation of artificial intelligence in the nuclear development planning, and use widely and deeply the new Artificial intelligence technology such as industrial robots, image recognition, in-depth learning, Independent unmanned driving, human-machine hybrid intelligence, virtual reality intelligent modeling, China will make efforts in the following points:

  • Take the demand-driven mode as the leading, pull the whole industry chain to widely apply AI.
  • Drive scientific research and production upgrade with technological innovation as booster.
  • Concentrate resources to do top planning and build intelligent security platform for nuclear power safety operation.
