Saudi delegation in Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant

On January 29, 2018, on the invitation of CNNC-Zhongyuan Company, a delegation from K.A CARE visited Fuqing Nuclear Power to inspect and exchange technology and construction of Hualong No.1. Shi Lishan, deputy director of the Nuclear Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, and Huang Mingang, chief economist of the CNNC, accompanied the inspection.

 

With the strategic connection between China’s “Belt and Road” and the “Vision of 2030” in Saudi Arabia, the potential of cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in the energy sector is broad. Both sides plan to unite in the nuclear power industry chain and personnel training to promote the efficient development of nuclear science and technology and equipment manufacturing industry.

 

During the visit, the delegation inspected the construction site of Unit 5 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant and the control room of Unit 1 in Hualong No.1 demonstration project, and visited the full scope simulator training center as well. The participants included National Energy Administration, Fujian Nuclear Power Office, CNNC Planning and Development Department, Department of International Cooperation, CNPE and NPIC.
