Indian suppliers in Rooppur

Rosatom declared recently that Indian companies can participate in the construction and installation work in the conventional island and Balance of Plant (BOP) for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Bangladesh. The agreement was signed between India, Bangladesh and Russia on March 1, 2018.

Rooppur project is the first initiative under the deal between India and Russia for nuclear power projects in third country.

This is the first time that Indian companies will participate in the nuclear energy project abroad for the first time. India is not a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), so cannot directly be involved in the construction of any nuclear power plant.
