Tecnatom wants to develop international markets with China

Spanish nuclear power companies rely on their own experience in the international market and look forward to support Chinese companies in international markets.

Founded in 1957, Spain’s Tecnatom is a nuclear power engineering service company. In 2006, Tecnatom and China General Nuclear Power Group jointly established China General Nuclear Power Detection Technology Co., Ltd. to provide pre-service and Inspection. For the establishment of a joint venture company in China to carry out business, Thomas Batuecas, the manager of the International Marketing Department of Tecnatom stated: “We are not forced to establish joint ventures with Chinese companies. At that time, the most convenient way for both companies to jointly manage their businesses was forming joint venture. It has proved to be very successful. We have been working together for more than 10 years and will continue to cooperate in the future.”

Talking about future cooperation, Thomas Batuecas plans to participate in the process of China’s global expansion. “We hope to expand our existing cooperation with Chinese companies. Not only in this important market in China, but also in the future we can jointly develop a broad international market. We are currently seeking cooperation with Chinese companies in projects in Argentina and the United Kingdom. We also hope to cooperate with projects in Turkey in the future. Spain’s experiences will help Chinese companies to ‘go global’.”

Xie Xiaoqin, head of the International Market Development Department of China National Nuclear Corporation’s Zhongyuan Engineering Co., Ltd., said that the nuclear industries in Spain and China have their respective strengths. “Spain is mainly manufacturing equipment, and the nuclear power plants have a relatively long operating time. We can carry out many cooperation, such as cooperation on equity and shares, as well as exploring the international market together .”
