On May 31, deputy general manager of CNNC Yang Changli paid a visit to the United Kingdom. Wang Yiren, deputy director of National Atomic Energy Agency, and a Chinese minister-counsellor in UK witnessed a MOU signing of Sino-British Joint R&D and Innovation Center under the tripartite cooperation. The signing of the memorandum is aimed to promoting further cooperation between China and the United Kingdom in the nuclear joint R&D field.
CNNC’s Division of Science and Technology, CNEC, China Nuclear Power Environmental Protection Company participated in the event.
On the sidelines, Wang Yiren met in London with David Pedi, director of the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, and held talks on cooperation in the field of radioactive waste disposal and decommissioning of nuclear facilities in both China and the UK.
