India : a new jackpot for US companies

U.S. Energy Minister Rick Perry. Declared recently that India is a very good opportunity for US energy products, including clean energy technology. Mr. Perry travelled to India in April this year as a part of the strategy to boost the bilateral energy cooperation of the Trump Administration.

During the first meeting of US-India Strategic Energy Partnership in April, the two countries decided to increase cooperation in petroleum and gas, electricity, renewable energy and coal sectors. Perry told reporters yesterday during a Round Table meeting, “India is a wonderful opportunity for the US energy sector.

He said that export of crude oil from India to the US has increased from 3,00,000 barrels to 8 million barrels in the last three years. It is a big market for US energy products, including clean coal technology. While appreciating India’s efforts to share nuclear power with America, Perry said that the US needs to take steps to develop new nuclear and technological methods for nuclear energy production.
