At the end of May, four ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission and National Energy Agency jointly issued “Guidance Opinions on Further Strengthening the Operational Safety Management of Nuclear Power” which clearly defined the nuclear safety culture construction guidance plan and evaluation index system. The policy support was gradually liberalized and the nuclear energy development in 2018 is improving, domestically and internationally. which overseas nuclear power projects of China SOEs were put on the agenda?
CNNC – Russia
On the evening of June 10 CNNC announced that the two framework contracts signed with JSC ASE for Tianwan and the Xudabao project will allow the jointconstructionofTianwan7&8 andXudapu3&4，which will feature Russia-designed VVER-1200/V491，and design servicelife 60 years. The total contract price of the two frameworks is US$3.62 billion.
CNNC also stated that two parties will continue thecontract negotiations and plan to sign the technical design contracts for Tianwan 7&8 in October 2018 and Xudapu3&4 inMarch 2019. Asforthe general contract for Tianwan7&8 andXudapu3&4. It is expected to be signed respectively in January 2019 and June 2019.
CNNC – Uganda
On May 11, Wang Shoujun, chairman of CNNC, met with Ugandan Minister of Energy and Mines, Ms. Irene Mulroney. After the meeting, two sides signed “Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation of Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy” and promised to give priority to the application of nuclear technology in medicine, agriculture and industry.

On April 11, Yu Jianfeng, general manager of CNNC, met with Mr. Syed Yusof Raza, a nuclear commissioner at the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. Both parties made scheduled the next step in nuclear energy cooperation.
CNNC – Argentina
On February 6, Wang Shoujun and Yu Jianfeng, general manager of the company met with President of Argentina’s nuclear power company in order to promote the implementation of the fourth and fifth nuclear power plant projects in Argentina.
CNNC – France
On January 9, CNNC signed a memorandum of understanding with France’s New Areva Group and signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with Framatome.
CGN – Hinckley Point C Project
On April 9th, at the CEO Roundtable of Boao Forum for Asia, Mr. He Yu, chairman of CGN, stated that at present, Hinckley Point C project has fully entered the implementation delivery phase, and the Bradwell B project has started the site exploration work.

On January 29, China TechenergyCo. and Korea’s Doosan signed in Shenzhen a cooperation deal and a supply contract of Control Rod drive mechanism for four units in Korea.
