The Regional Business Director for Eastern Java, Bali and PLN Nusa Tenggara Djoko R. Abumanan said that the visit was to study directly the technology of nuclear power plants used at the Novovoronezh NPP.

“We are interested in the research and technology of Rosatom, especially in Unit 6 which uses the latest nuclear technology. We feel it is appropriate to do a benchmarking to the Novovoronezh NPP as the largest nuclear power plant in Russia, “Djoko said.

In the framework of this working visit to Russia, PLN brought the Chancellor and representatives from seven well-known Indonesian universities to create synergies of shared understanding regarding the use of nuclear energy.

“We, together with academics, visit this Novovoronezh nuclear power plant to have a deeper understanding of the use of nuclear technology and the minus and the application of nuclear power plants. In addition, we also benchmark against their human resources training system, “he explained.

The PLN delegation was received by Rosatom Deputy Chief Engineer Sergei Vitkovskiy and management. This visit to the Novovoronezh NPP includes a review of the Rosatom training center, the conventional island and the control room.

This PLN working visit with academics to Russia has been going on for 5 days. Before visiting Novovoronezh NPP, PLN visits university institutions such as MPEI, Gubkin State University and MEPhI. The University of Indonesia and the Bogor Agricultural Institute successfully signed an agreement (MoU) with RSAU-MTT through this visit.
