Possible Investors in Akkuyu

The chairman of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev said that companies outside of Turkish companies are interested in purchasing shares from the Akkuyu project: “The approval of the Turkish government is necessary to accept investors in the project and we are in talks with potential investors.

Rosatom said that companies are in the Middle East on the list of possible investors and said that they are in the further stages of negotiations with Turkish companies.

On another question, Lihachev noted that in 2019, Rosatom did not have a goal to sell 49 percent of the Akkuyu project’s shares to foreign investors.
