new director of China’s National Energy Administration strengthen ties with France

From December 4th to 8th, new Director of the National Energy Administration (NEA) Zhang Jianhua led a delegation to France to participate in the 6th Sino-French High-level Economic and Financial Dialogue. He, together with Laurent Michel, Director of Directorate General of Energy and Climate (DGEC) of Ministry for Ecological and Solidarity Transition (MEST), hosted the 2nd Session of Sino-French Energy Dialogue.

During the meetings, representatives of two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on energy development policies, nuclear energy, natural gas, renewable energy. NEA and MEST signed memorandum of understanding for the Dialogue meetings. More than 50 representatives from relevant departments and energy companies of China and France attended the meetings.

During the visit in France, Zhang Jianhua met with EDF Chief Executive Jean-Bernard Levy. Two sides exchanged views on civil nuclear power, power investment, energy services, and Taishan project, the British package deals as well as the GDA review for Hualong No.1.
