International tender for renewable energy projects worth $ 824 billion in Tunisia

On January 10th, 2019, the Tunisian government announced that it would launch an international tender for the production of renewable energy by the end of April, at a value of $ 824 million.

The Prime Minister, “*Yousef Al-Shahid,” announced a number of resolutions, including: “Issuing the tender request for the production of electricity from renewable energy on April 27, 2018 with an investment of about 2 billion dinars (824 million dollars).

The project will be allocated to produce about 800 MW of solar and wind power in six provinces, mostly in the south and center.

 

*Youssef Al-Shahid was born on 18 September 1975 in Tunis and has been the Prime Minister of Tunisia since 27 August 2016. He served as Minister of Local Development in the Government of Habib El-Said between 12 January 2016 until his new position. He was nominated to head the Government of National Unity by the President of Tunisia Baji Qaed Al-Sibsi.
