China and France boost their nuclear cooperation

On March 25, witnessed by President Xi Jinping and French President Macron, Zhang Jianhua, deputy director of China National Atomic Energy Agency (CAEA), and Jacq, chairman of the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energy Committee (CEA), signed the thirteenth protocol on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, in Paris, France.

The protocol aims to develop an overall framework for nuclear energy cooperation between the two countries. Since the two countries signed the first nuclear energy cooperation protocol in 1982, two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation in the form of personnel training, expert exchanges, joint research and development, and collaborative laboratories under the framework of the protocol. The signing of the 13th China-France Nuclear Energy Cooperation Agreement will provide a strong guarantee to deepen cooperation and strengthen the scientific and technological research and development cooperation in the nuclear industry.
