Egypt and Russia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to manufacture pipe systems for Egypt’s Al Dabaa nuclear power station, which Russia is helping to establish as a strategic partner. According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, the Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Saeed Al-Assar, signed a memorandum of understanding between the National Military Production Corporation and the Russian companies “TMK” and “Tube-2000” in the field of piping systems manufacturing, in the presence of representatives of JSC ATOMPROK Holding., at the Ministry of Interior.
Under the memorandum of understanding, cooperation will be established between the Egyptian and Russian sides to localize the technology of manufacturing of special pipes used in nuclear power plants.
Kiril Marchenko, development director of TMK, has stated that the company is interested in participating in the Egyptian nuclear project through cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production. He pointed out the readiness of his company for the joint manufacturing of pipe systems for Al Dabaa station, in cooperation with the company “Tube-2000” which has experience in supplying piping systems for nuclear projects for the Russian company Rosatom.
