UAE to build a $100 million power plant in Yemen

On Wednesday (June 12th), the UAE announced the signing of a new $ 100 million agreement with Yemen.

According to the UAE news agency “WAM”, the agreement was signed with the Ministry of Electricity in the Republic of Yemen to implement a power plant in Aden with a capacity of about 120 MW and will provide electricity to about 2.5 million Yemeni citizens.

The agreement comes within the framework of the continuation of programs to support the electric power sector implemented by the UAE in Yemen.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed Jumaa Al Zaabi, Minister of Higher Council Affairs of the Federation in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najib Al-Awaj, in the presence of Moin Abdul Malik, Yemeni Prime Minister.
