Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry and SMEs has announced the invitation to submit bids for the implementation of projects for the construction of solar power plants with a total capacity of 70 MW.

Six projects for the production of electricity with a maximum capacity of 60 megawatts (10 megawatts per project) and 10 smaller-scale projects for the production of electricity with a maximum capacity of 10 MW.

The Ministry invited interested stakeholders to submit bids before 26th of November 2019.

The House of Representatives had ratified, at the end of May, to a series of amendments in the framework of improving the investment climate; mainly aimed at accelerating the pace of electricity production projects of renewable energies, and reduce the obstacles to domestic and foreign investors in this vital economic sector.

These amendments enable investors in the renewable energy sector to implement energy production projects on farmland without having to change their type as it used to be in the past.
