On July 9, China Isotope & Radiation Association (CIRA) held the inaugural meeting of the Radiation Safety Professional Committee in Beijing. The establishment of the special committee will play a positive role in promoting the safe development of isotope and radiation industry and ensuring radiation safety.
Wu Jian, executive vice chairman of CIRA, Liu Luxiang, deputy director of CIRA, Chai Guohan, deputy director of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Han Ailiang, deputy director of the Nuclear Technology Utilization Department of the Department of Radiation Source Safety Supervision Office, and more than 70 representatives from national research institutes, enterprises and institutions and relevant regulatory agencies attended the inaugural meeting.
Chai Guohan pointed out that the newly established Radiation Safety Special Committee includes the design, application, monitoring and evaluation in the aspects of nuclear technology utilization. It has gathered experts and elites in the field of radiation safety, aiming to build a communication platform for radiation protection and industry research.
According to the resolution of the board of directors of Radiation Safety Professional Committee, Cheng Li, deputy chief engineer oNuclear and Radiation Safety Center, is appointed as director of the special committee, and Wang Xiaotao, director of the radiation source safety assessment department of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, is the secretary general of the special committee.
It is reported that the 50 members of the special committee include Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China Tongfu Co., Ltd., Zhongjin Radiation Co., Ltd., Atomic High-Tech Co., Ltd., Sichuan Institute of Atomic Energy, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd. Shandong Lanfu High Energy Physics Technology Co., Ltd., Chengdu Gaotong Isotope Co., Ltd etc.
