Indonesian house of representatives asked for a nuclear plant

The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia asked the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ignasius Jonan, to examine the opportunities for nuclear power plants (NPP) included in the National Electricity General Plan (RUKN) 2019 – 2038.

In a working meeting at the Republic of Indonesia Parliament Building, Member of Commission VII, Kurtubi, said that nuclear power plants have a minimal impact produced on the environment.

Minister Ignasius Jonan will organize a Forum Group Discussion (FGD), considering that currently the majority of homeland power plants are sourced from Steam Power Plants (PLTU).

Acting Managing Director of the National Electricity Company (PLN) Djoko Abumanan said that the FGD had often been carried out by PLN.  Djoko visited Rosatom recently in Russia.
