Approval of a 500 MW wind power project in Egypt

The Egyptian Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, approved the request to implement a project of wind power plant with a capacity of 500 MW on terms of BOO system.

The request was made by the Siemens-Gamesas consortium for Renewable Energy, provided that it is contracted with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, at the lowest price reached, on the same contractual terms as the last such tender.
