There has been an attempt to hack the systems of the Atomic Energy Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), the state – run company that operates nuclear power reactors in India.
A Malware was found on one of its computers, but the company stated that the systems connected to the plants were completely safe and that the malware had no effect on them.
Deputy head of the Russian Embassy, Roman Babushkin, said that the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd, has informed Russian officials that the Kudankulam plant is safe, and additional steps have been taken to enhance the security of Kudankulam nuclear power plant, a joint venture between India and Russia. “Russian officials are working with Indian agencies to prevent further attacks,” Babushkin said.
