Denmark postpones final shutdown of three fossil fuel plants

Denmark intends to postpone the final shutdown of three fossil fuel power plants until the summer of 2024 due to the energy crisis.

The Danish Ministry of Energy and Climate announced in Copenhagen that the move is a measure aimed at ensuring energy security in the country during the next two winters.

These stations will be a backup in case the amount of electricity available in the winter is insufficient. Two stations have already been removed from the network, while the third was expected to be removed next spring.
