A multi-purpose irradiation center in Cuba

JSC Rusatom Healthcare signed an agreement with the Cuban trading company Inversiones Gamma SA to implement a project to create a multi-purpose irradiation center in Cuba. 

The irradiation processing of agricultural products there will reduce the cost of electricity in refrigeration units, as well as the abandon of chemical treatment of fruits and vegetables.  

The multi-purpose radiation center will be located in the Mariel Special Economic Zone. 

Besides, both governments signed a scientific, technical, and innovative cooperation agreement. It involves the implementation of joint projects, the exchange of scientists and specialists, the organization and conduct of symposia, conferences, exhibitions, the creation of scientific and innovative infrastructure.
