Acwa Power joins the bid to acquire Jordanian power plants

The Jordanian government has selected the Saudi power company, “Acwa Power”, amongst the companies that have reached the final stages of a tender for the purchase of 6 solar and wind power plants with capacities up to 300 MW.

Amman selected 45 international companies to bid for the purchase of Jordan’s power plants, including four solar plants and two wind power plants.

Jordan’s energy minister, Daleh Al-Kharabsheh, said that the 31 companies, which aspire to purchase the four solar power plants, include “Leno” and “Total”, among others.

He added that each of the four solar power stations has a capacity of up to 50 MW, pointing out that the companies participating in the contest will provide technical and financial details about their offers by the end of the month.

He pointed out that the other 14 companies competing for the two wind power stations include international companies, like: “Alcazar”, “Estia Energy” and “South Korea Energy”.
