Atomenergomash completed the RPV for Akkuyu NPP Unit 1

Atomenergomash AŞ announced the completion of the welding of Akkuyu NPP Unit 1 reactor upper head at the resource center in Volgodonsk, Russia. 

The process of the welding takes 17 days, and the RPV upper head is about 95 tons.

Atomenergomash A Ş, which also produces reactor equipment for nuclear power plants in India, Bangladesh, China, and Russia supplies reactor equipment and machinery for all four units of Akkuyu NGS. The intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of Akkuyu NGS was signed with Russia in 2010. The plant of four reactors with a total installed capacity of 4,800 megawatts, is planned to be commissioned in 2023.
