Bahrain opens the tender for the construction of a solar power plant

The Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs of Bahrain, Dr. Abdul Hussein bin Ali Mirza, confirmed that the project to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatts, and in partnership with the private sector, entered the tender stage.

Mirza said that the project construction agreement is expected to be signed by December.

Mirza also said that the project was approved by the Tender and Auction Board during the last session. The Board agreed to send a general invitation to a restricted number of experienced companies. The committee responsible for the project held intensive meetings and decided to invite qualified companies wishing to submit their bids for a preliminary proposal.

This step is intended to create more opportunities to study the capabilities of the bidding companies and to ensure that they offer innovative solutions to deal with the project location, in the southern governorate, according to the technical specifications of the project and to sign the project construction agreement by December.
