The 3rd “One Belt and One Road Summit”,co-organized by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) was held on June 28 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participation of He Yu, (Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Group), Mrs. Carrie Lam (Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), Mr. Xiao Yaqing (Director of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission), Somkid Jatusripitak (Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand), Luo Kangrui (Chairman of HKTDC).
Before the opening ceremony, SASAC delegation held a meeting with Hong Kong “Belt and Road” Chamber of Commerce. The heads of state-owned enterprises from China Construction, China Merchants Group, China Tourism Group and Mr. Pan Sutong, Chairman of the “Belt and Road” General Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and other Hong Kong representatives attended the forum.
The first “One Belt, One Road Summit Forum” aimed to promote the concept of “One Belt, One Road”. Last year, the theme of the forum was “Shaping Vision as Action”. The theme of this forum is “All-round Cooperation”, focusing on promoting the development opportunities brought by the “Belt and Road Initiative” and discussing the cooperation among local governments and business opportunities in different industries. This Summit will launch more than 220 investment projects covering more than 40 countries and regions’ major industries such as logistics, infrastructure, energy, technology and urban development.
