CGN and EDF to launch new dialogue

Sino-French Relationship Action Plan has been released, which noted that the 35-year cooperation between China and France in the field of peaceful use of civil nuclear energy is a highlight between the two countries.

Heads of the two states applaud the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Cooperation in the Construction of Reprocessing/Recycling Plants in China. And they urged two sides complete the negotiations as soon as possible and reach an intergovernmental agreement on the project. In view of the successful experience in Taishan project, the world’s first two EPR units to be put into operation, two heads of state encouraged China General Nuclear Power Corp.

(CGN) and the French EDF to launch a new dialogue to continue their cooperation in China and third-party markets on the basis of balance, transparency and mutual benefit. China and France are committed to actively promoting nuclear power cooperation in the UK, especially the construction of two EPR units in Hinkley Point C, the General Design Review (GDA) for Hualong No. 1.
