The second Sustainable Energy and Technology Asia, or SETA 2017, opened at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand on March 8.
Hu Wenquan, Senior Vice President of CGN, attended the opening ceremony with government officials from Thailand. China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) participated in SETA 2017 as the only nuclear power company.
After the opening ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Prajin Jantong and the Minister of Energy, Mr. Anantaporn Kanjanarat met with CGN’s representatives to learn about the company’s latest developments.
They were especially interested in the HPR1000, inquiring in detail the progress of Thai companies’ cooperation with CGN on the Fangchenggang project.
SETA 2017 covered topics such as response to climate change, local energy policy and planning and opportunities and challenges faced by Asia’s nuclear power development. According to estimates, more than 5,000 professionals from 40 countries and regions visited this year’s show. Employees from CGN, China Nuclear Power Technology Research Institute, CGN New Energy Holdings Co, China Techenergy Co and Edra will introduce CGN and China’s HPR1000 to visitors and educate them about nuclear power.
