China dedicates $10 billion to build a green hydrogen industrial park

Shanxi Pengfei Group, located in Luliang City, plans to invest 78 billion yuan ($10B) in an advanced Pengwan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park.

The park will be built to create a modern industrial system integrating manufacturing, storage, transportation, processing, use, research, and equipment manufacturing.

Shanxi has a total coking capacity of 140 million tons, and the by-product coke oven gas that can be used for hydrogen production is about 28 billion square meters, all of which can be used for hydrogen production and can produce 1.5 million tons of hydrogen per year.

By the end of 2025, the city’s hydrogen production capacity will reach more than 200,000 tons, 50 hydrogen refueling stations will be built, and the number of hydrogen fuel vehicles will exceed 5,000, forming a relatively complete industrial development system.
