China expands in the Indonesian nuclear program

On the morning of December 27, the general manager of China’s Nuclear Engineering & Construction Group Corporation Mr. Gu Jun met with Prof. Dr. Djarot Sulistio Wisnubroto, chairman of Indonesia’s Atomic Energy Agency, known as BATAN.

Dr. Djarot briefed Gu Jun on the development of Indonesia’s high-temperature gas-cooled experimental reactor project, the state power development in Indonesia and the development plan for new energy and renewable energy. And he also stated that in the ” MOU on Cooperation in the Field of Peaceful Uses in the Research and Development of Nuclear Energy “signed with NEA, the cooperation in implementing the HTGR pilot project would be incorporated into the MOU text. The two sides agreed that Indonesia’s high-temperature gas-cooled experimental reactor project has a bright future and will conduct in-depth and detailed exchanges on the details of the project cooperation so as to jointly promote the development of the high-temperature gas-cooled experimental reactor project in Indonesia and China as well as overseas projects.
