Recently CNNC and CGN – two nuclear industry tycoons in China, affirmed in the *2017 Astana Expo in Kazakhstan, that they will actively participate in the development of the Kazakh uranium resources as well as the nuclear market.
Kazakhstan is one of the major counties along the line of “Belt and Road”, and also China’s key partner in the industry cooperation. CNNC and CGN talked with it about the cooperation in the whole nuclear industrial chain, including the uranium exploitation and development, the nuclear fuel fabrication and production, and the nuclear power plant construction.
Since from 2006, CGN has worked out a plan called “Three Steps Strategy”: natural uranium trade — uranium development cooperation — nuclear fuel assembly fabrication and developing new uranium project.
Except for CGN, CNNC president Mr. Wang Shoujun met with the president of the KazAtomProm Askar Zhumagaliev to further discuss about the industry chain cooperation.
*Astana Expo is the first specific Expo held by the Central Asian Countries. The subject is “Future Energy”. And “Nuclear” is the highlight of the Chinese Pavilion in this Expo.
