China Passive hydrogen autocatalytic recombiners enter Russian market

China’s Nuclear Power Institute signed a contract with Russia’s LLC GPS to supply passive hydrogen autocatalytic recombiners on Aug 17.

It is the first time passive hydrogen autocatalytic recombiners which were developed by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), have entered the Russian nuclear power market. It is also the first time for the product to be exported to another country with advanced nuclear technology.

Passive hydrogen autocatalytic recombiners are a key piece of equipment developed by the CNNC to enhance nuclear security. The equipment has now been successfully put into use in many nuclear power projects, including Qinshan and Tianwan. Feedback and technical evaluations of the product have been positive.

Meanwhile, the product has also been patented and awarded the second prize for technological innovation within the CNNC.
