China training for South Africa nuclear project

On August 10, State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC), held in Shanghai the opening ceremony of the “South Africa civil nuclear energy training program” (on-job training).
Mr. Hou Xuezhong, the deputy general manager of SNPTC attended the ceremony, hosted by the Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute(SNERDI).

The program consists of fundamental training, professional training, on-job training.
The first two sessions finished respectively in 2015 and 2016 with a total of 168 people being trained. In this program, 21 students from Nuclear Energy Corporation of South African (NECSA) and Eskom, the South African State Power Company, covering 16 different positions.
The training period diverges from one month to four months, undertaken by SNERDI, State Nuclear Power Engineering Company (SNPEC), State Nuclear Equipment Company, State Nuclear Zirconium Industry and State Nuclear Operation company.
Mr Monde Alvin Mondi, Necsa Group Senior Manager and Mr. Hou urged the students to actively engage in the training courses and improve the knowledge of the advanced nuclear technology.

After the ceremony, the students visited the technology exhibition hall in SNERDI and Human Factors & Ergonomics Lab.

Note: Mr. Monde Alvin Mondi is Necsa Group Senior Manager: Human Resources (HR) since 01 February 2017.

Mr. Mondi has more than 20 years of work experience. He gained vast knowledge in people’s management, strategy formulation and implementation, transformation and change management, restructuring of organizations, policy formulation, labor relations and negotiations.

He holds a Master’s degree in Labor Relations and Human Resource Management, Master’s Diploma in Human Resource, a Management Development Program, Bachelor of Philosophy in Value Analysis and Policy Formulation and Bachelor of Arts from various universities.
